May 22, 1946 - June 14, 2021 (Age 75)

Hyndman, PA – Thomas Lee Carr, 75, of Hyndman, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2021, at home with his wife by his side.

Tom was born in Cumberland, MD, on May 22, 1946. When he was a year old, his parents bought a farm in Ellerslie, MD, known for decades as The Carr Farm. Tom was drafted into the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. He worked for PPG Glass and then moved onto the CSX Railroad, where he retired after 33 years as a conductor.

Tom is preceded in death by his father: Jacob W. Carr; his mother: Emma Carr; his two brothers: Richard and Harry Carr; his sister and brother-in-law: Karen and Wade Lease; his son: Tommy Carr; and a nephew: Jay Carr.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years: Martelle (Cooper) Carr; his sister: Anita Cessna and husband, Tom; his three children from a previous marriage: Tommy (deceased), Troy, and Brandy Carr; his two daughters: Jessica and Emma Carr; a very special grandson he and his wife have raised since birth: Eli Thomas Carr; and two stepdaughters: Jennifer Williams and husband, Dave, who he thought the world of; and Leigh Hines. Tom had a very special mother-in-law, that he thought much of as a friend: Barbara Cooper.

Tom was always the go to guy with family and friends. He was a very proud man that loved his family and grandchildren with everything he had.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Floyd Rinehart officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Harry Carr, Jr., Richard Carr, Michael Cooper, Harry Carr, III, Jacob Carr, and Dave Johnson.
