Stanley Dale Nester
June 13, 1952 - January 8, 2022 (Age 69)
On Saturday, January 8, 2022, Stanley Dale Nester; loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend; passed away at the age of 69.
Stan was born on June 13, 1952, in Grantsville, WV, to James Dale and Oleva Francis Nester. He was raised in Akron, OH, and attended the University of Akron. Stan was a member of The Chapel where he met his wife Debbie (Haslett) Nester. They moved to Charlotte, NC, in 1986, where they laid down roots and raised their son. Stan was a Sales Manager with Myers Tire Supply for over 30 years, and loved meeting new people. He was known for his genuineness, kindness, and ever-present smile. Stan devoted countless hours to the Boy Scouts of America in both Akron and Charlotte. Stan will be most remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Stan was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Nester; father, James Nester; and nephew, Rory Nester. He is survived by his beloved son, Derek Nester; daughter-in-law, Sara Nester; granddaughter, Elizabeth Jean Nester; his mother, Fran Nester; and his brothers, Larry (Lynda) and Barry (Sandra); along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel, followed by graveside interment in Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road in Mint Hill.
