Lilia Franks

Lilia G. "Lily" Franks, age 102, of Groveport, OH, passed away on April 10, 2024. She was born on January 11, 1922, in Tacloban City in the Philippines.

Lily was the matriarch of her family, known for her island hospitality and love for cooking. A social butterfly, she was deeply involved in the Groveport community. Her resourcefulness and creativity shone through her 80-year career as a seamstress and was once the Fashion Show Coordinator for the National Square Dance Convention in Columbus. She also dedicated her time as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and as a Leader of the local Camp Fire Girls group.

In her free time, Lily enjoyed crafting butterflies, sweatshirts, and aprons using recycled materials, and was an active member of the Circle Eight square dance club. She organized luaus, played mahjong, and cards with friends and family, and was a familiar face at the Senior Center for many years.

Lily's services will be held at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home in Groveport, OH, with visitation from 4-7 pm on Monday April 15. The funeral service will be Tuesday April 16th at 11 am, followed by a graveside service at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

Lily Franks is survived by her children James (Arlene) Franks, Phoenix (Deborah) Franks IV, Katherine (Scott) Trogolo, and Steven (Brenda) Franks, as well as nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Phoenix Franks III, son Richard Franks, her parents, 6 siblings, and other family members.
