Elmer T. Glenn

March 4, 1924 - May 1, 2021 (Age 97)

Elmer T. Glenn, 97, of Buffalo Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1st, at the Butler VA Medical Center. Elmer was born in Freeport, on March 4, 1924, a son of the late Anna (Ward) and Samuel Glenn. He worked in the maintenance department at Hampton School District for 15 years. He was a member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver. Elmer served in the US Army 4th Infantry Division during WWII / European Conflict. He was a member of the New Kensington VFW. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, golfing, crossword puzzles, and most of all, spending time with his family. Elmer is survived by his son Gary (Jenna) Glenn, of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Linda Rodriguez, of Buffalo Twp. and Patricia (Dale) Gunter, of Gardendale, AL. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and his sister Norma Jean Sterling, of Grove City, OH. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Norma Jean (Hartman) Glenn, second wife LaVonne M. (Conery) Glenn, grandson Dennis Lavery, Jr. and brothers George & Albert Glenn. Family and friends will be received on Thursday May 6th from 4-7 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, May 7th at Evangel Heights Assembly of God, 120 Beale Rd Sarver, with Pastor Dan Corfield officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PA Adult & Teen Challenge (Western PA) 33 Teen Challenge Road, P.O. Box 98, Rehrersburg, PA 19550.
