Douglas P. Kinney, age 59, of Reynoldsburg, died Friday, June 4, 2021 at OSU Wexner Medical Center. Born September 9, 1961 on Lockbourne AFB to Kathleen “Kay” (Pinkerman) Kinney and the late Melvin P. Kinney. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he played baritone in the pep band. He was a head supervisor for TSA at Port Columbus, and was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. Doug was one of the founding members of Columbus’ premier rock band, Exit.
He is survived by his daughters, Talia (Rochelle) Maddy, and Emily (Tyler) Peterson, both of Reynoldsburg, and their mother, Karen Kinney; grandchildren, Carson, Samantha, McCabe, Alton, and Beau; mother, Kay Kinney, Groveport; and brother, Brian (Kim) Kinney, Commercial Point.
Friends may visit 11 am to 1 pm Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Michael O’Bryant officiating. Entombment after at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
