February 27, 1946 - November 18, 2021 (Age 75)

Dorothy L. (Benko) Strosko, 75, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at home. She was born Feb. 27, 1946, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Paul J. and Angeline Moschetti Benko. Dorothy was a member of St. James Parish, New Alexandria. Dorothy's purpose in life was caring for others. She had a love for cooking and baking for family and friends. Nursing, however, was always her first love. She started as a nurse's aide at Westmoreland Hospital and went back to school at CCAC and graduated with honors from Duquesne School of Nursing at the age of 48. She worked at both MaGee and Excela Westmoreland Hospitals in the oncology units. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew and Godson, Dr. Scott Drab. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Martin A. 'Marty' Strosko; son, Paul Strosko (Mary), of Greensburg; brother, Paul Benko, of Greensburg; sister, Connie Drab (Richard), of Jeannette; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Dorothy from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020. Parting prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria, PA 15670. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Please be prepared to adhere to all current CDC guidelines. Dorothy loved animals and would be honored if you would consider memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County or any animal rescue organization.
