Asher Nora Smith

Asher Nora Smith, beloved three-year-old daughter of Adam and Courtney Smith became an angel on Saturday, May 29, 2021.

Asher, whose name means “Happiness,” seemed to radiate joy. She was a beautiful little girl with a headful of brown ringlets, sparkling brown eyes, and an infectious laugh. She loved dressing up as a Disney princess, adding her signature pink cowboy boots to every outfit from swimsuit to ballet tutu. Recently she told her mother she wanted to be three forever and her wish was granted, though she leaves behind a broken-hearted family and friends.

These include her siblings, London Smith, Bricyn Brooks, and Willow Smith of Fort Mill; her maternal grandparents, Wanda Brooks and her partner, Patrick Timmons, of Lake Wylie; and Pat and Carol Brooks of Odessa, TX; paternal grandparents, Leo and Kathryn Smith of Anderson; and aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with many daycare friends.

The visitation will be held at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Gentry Eddings II presiding. Mourners are encouraged to refrain from wearing black, but dressing in the bright colors Asher loved, especially pink and purple. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Asher Smith’s Pink Boot Fund, c/o Make a Wish South Carolina, 225 Mt. These donations will help critically ill little girls become Disney princesses with a vacation or other activities they wish for.
